Placement Outline

The goal is for candidates to improve knowledge, skills and competencies in the delivery of coaching, leading and guiding in sea kayaking.

Participants will fly from Dublin to Bristol Airport on Sunday the 4th of October. They will collect two rental vehicles, a nine seater mini bus and a estate car, which they will then drive to Falmouth – 3 hours drive approx. Currently however the exchange rate from Euros to Sterling is poor and as a result we are taking a hit. We will make every effort to get the most value for the funding possible. Successful candidates will be advised closer to the date what we have been able to secure and what they will have to cover. While at Maen Porth Holiday participants have full use of the pool, gym, etc. The houses are a two minute walk from the beach and a 5 minute walk from the Symposium Location.  They are a 10 minute drive from Sea Kayak Cornwalls HQ.

On the 5th, 6th and 7th of October participants will be introduced to Sea Kayak Cornwall, their systems of operation, and an over view of the coming weeks work. Participants will also spend time on the water with Sea Kayak Cornwall instructors allowing them to accurately assess abilities and best decide which programs the participants can assist and take part in over the course of the symposium and week after.
